As part of the creative team, I helped shape and bring to life the brand for Confluent Current, the go-to conference for the data streaming world. We created a fresh, flowing visual identity for Current, and event assets that captures the excitement of real-time data in motion. Confluent Current is the flagship event for everyone building with data streaming, developers, engineers, architects, and leaders diving into Apache Kafka, Flink, real-time AI, and modern data pipelines. It brings over 2500 people together for keynotes, workshops, sessions, and real community vibes. My role on the team was contributing to the concepting and execution of a unified brand that feels energetic, professional, and true to the “current” of unstoppable data flow.

We needed to move beyond the old Kafka Summit look to something that better reflected Confluent’s bigger vision around streaming and AI, while keeping it scalable for global events, hybrid formats, websites, signage, and swag. The brand had to stand out in the busy tech-conference space, feel authentic to a technical crowd, and avoid generic vibes, all while staying approachable and exciting enough to spark registrations.

Together with the team, we built a fluid identity inspired by electric currents and data momentum: dynamic wave elements, a punchy palette of deep blues with electric greens and cyans, custom type with subtle motion hints, and versatile illustrations that work everywhere from screens to big event graphics. I helped concept these core ideas and then brought them to life across the site, promo materials, and on-site assets, creating a bold, cohesive feel that energizes the community and clearly marks Current as the essential data streaming gathering.
